This is a simple but interesting silhouette. Not much to say about it, but it is very ironic that this is the last elephant at the National Zoo at the time. Black and White conversion, slight adjustments and noise addition in post production, but this picture is mostly original.

While I was walking my dogs, I noticed this statue at a local “art school”. Most likely intentional, at near sun down the sun produced a great lighting effect on the statue. It is unfortunate though that the background was suburban hell. It was a cluter of low end sedans, trees, chain link fence, and grass.
I obviously photoshopped the background out and put in something a bit more abstract. The actual statue was not rendered in post production.
This may be a keeper after all is said and done.
Special thanks to Philip Weir at TFP for the idea of the backdrop.

These are my first real effective attempts at black and whites. I decided to try and capture a macro, a landscape, and an in-between.
All three of these shots were taken at my friend's house in Cape Hatteras, NC during Memorial day weekend.
I am extremely pleased with these shots. I have ordered 8 x 10" print to see how they appear on paper.
Post Processing includes convertion to black and whith color tint and removal of power wires and water tanks (except macro shot).
